Metsec plc Z-section Purlins
Our zed purlin product range consists of a fully compatible range of Z-section profiles made from cold rolled steel in depths ranging from 142mm to 342mm deep. In addition, our zed section purlins come with a wide range of compatible accessories and can be supplied for the majority of cladding types and designs.

Metsec Z-section steel purlin profiles are manufactured from pre-hot dipped galvanised steel, G275 coating and with a minimum yield strength of 450N/mm˛. Further information on all of the following zed purlin systems and their applications can be found in our Purlin Technical Manual.



Z-Section Butt Purlin System

Metsec plc A single spanning zed purlin system which does not use sleeves or laps. Can cater for odd spans, inset or oversail purlin applications. Useful when sheeting line depth is critical.

Z-Section Sleeved Purlin System

Metsec plc
Metsec plc Zed purlin sleeves are located at all penultimate rafter connections and staggered on all internal bays. This purlin system is suitable for 2 or more bays with rafter spacing's up to 15 m. Typically used with small conventional buildings where the continuity of the zed purlin system allows for the optimum use of steel.

Z-section Heavy End Bay Sleeved Purlin System

Metsec plc
Metsec plc Heavier gauge steel zed purlins fitted on end bays with lighter gauge steel zed purlins fitted on internal bays. Penultimate rafters are fully sleeved using the thicker gauge steel purlin material.
Suitable for 5 or more bays. Rafter spacing's up to 15m. Cost effective for long continuous buildings.

Eaves Beams

Metsec plc Metsec Eaves Beams range from 170-330mm in depth and can have a top flange angle of between 0-25° in 5 ° increments. Fastener holes can be plain or counter formed.
