Metsec's SFS system was specified as infill walling for the steel intensive construction to achieve the fastest possible dry envelope for the 8 storey 12,000 m² Nuffield Hospital which was completed in 18 month construction programme.

During this project 2,000 m² of SFS infill was installed using approved Metsec installers within the hot rolled steel frame taking just 20 weeks to install before being clad in brickwork and curtain walling. The 150 mm deep SFS stud and track sections were installed early in the construction programme, as soon as the floors had been concreted, to facilitate an early fit out of the space. The steel infill walling provides lateral support for the brickwork and curtain walling external skin.
